Scoring an at-bat
- Tap the square where the batter's row meets the inning column.
- Pick how he got on, or how he made an out.
- If the play had a fielder, edit the fielder line (it pre-fills a common one, like 6-3).
- On a batted ball, tap the little field to mark where it went.
- Set how far he got. The diamond fills in one base at a time, and a full diamond means he scored.
- If he moved up after his at-bat, tag each leg under how he advanced — SB, WP, PB, BLK, E, or "on batter" if the next hitter drove him.
- If he was thrown out on the bases, say so under put out on the bases. The out lands on his square, where it belongs.
- Add RBI and the count if you keep them, then Done.
Block square greys a square out so it counts for nothing. Use it for the squares
past the end of a half-inning, or for a spot in the order that never came up.
Fielder numbers
Every position has a number, and a fielding play is written as the numbers in the order
they touched the ball.

So 6-3 is shortstop to first base. F8 is a fly out to center,
L4 a liner to the second baseman.
Scoring a double play
A double play is two outs, so it touches two squares: the batter's, and the square
of the runner who was retired.
- Open the batter's square and choose DP.
- Write the fielding line in the order the ball travelled. A ground ball to short that
goes shortstop, second base, first base is 6-4-3. To the second baseman first it is
4-6-3; a comebacker is 1-6-3; third to second to first is 5-4-3.
- Leave the batter's base on —. He is out at first, so no part of the diamond fills.
- Now open the square of the runner who was forced out — his own at-bat, an inning
column back or in this same inning. Set his base back to where he was standing and note
the out in his square's note line, e.g. out at 2nd, 6-4-3 DP.
If the batter beats the relay and only the lead runner is out, that is not a double play:
score the batter FC (fielder's choice) reaching 1st, and mark the runner out in his
own square.
A strike-'em-out throw-'em-out is the same idea: K for the batter, and the caught
stealing noted in the runner's square as 2-4 or 2-6.

Put out on the bases
A runner erased between bases is an out on his own square, not on the square of
whoever happened to be batting. The leg he never finished is drawn dashed, ending in an
×, and the out is numbered there like any other.
